Studies are on-going for the affects of Fish Oils on the mind and how it may effect age-related cognitive decline, including Alzheimer’s disease. From these pending studies, it is believed that you are half as likely to experience cognitive degeneration or decline if you consume Fish Oils 2 -3 times per week.
Scientist believe that effects on the brain of inflammation may cause Alzheimer’s disease. Therefore, it is surmised that reducing the inflammation may prevent or decellerate the progression of Alzheimer’s disease.
Since Omega-3s decrease inflammatory proteins (see Joints), this is a logical conclusion to be proven by subsequent studies.
